Five stars for M. Malone’s The Alexanders series – a sexy, fun, & sometimes suspenseful read.

M. (Minx) Malone‘s contemporary romance series The Alexanders is one that I stumbled upon recently. I confess that the publisher declined my request for an ARC for book one of the series, but my interest was piqued and I made sure to acquire the four books available in the series to date.imageThe prequel novella, Teasing Trent, is actually available free right now through Amazon’s Kindle store and is a great introduction some of the characters that Malone weaves throughout her series. I will give you a warning that this novella, like Pamela Clare’s First Strike, is more …

Donna Kauffman’s sexy, fun, and moving Pelican Point is a five star winner!

imageA lighthouse, the coast of Maine, a brooding hunky hero with a sex god voice, and a strong, beautiful heroine overcoming emotional challenges – what more could you ask for in a romance? Well how about a little implied magic, another hunk with an Irish brogue, a tell-it-like-it-is diner owner, a pub owner uncle that everyone wants to hug, and a grumpy proprietor of an antique shop with very special tree growing within in it.

If this all sounds as fascinating to you as it did to me, you won’t be able to put down Pelican Point either. The first …

Five thumbs up for Jayne Denker’s sexy romp through Hollywood highs and lows, Unscripted.

imageAfter reading Jayne Denker’s soon-to-be-released Down on Love (21 Nov 2013 pub date), I really wanted to read some of her other books. Luckily her publisher had one, Unscripted, available for review.

What a difference between the two books – Down on Love the quintessential small town romance with Unscripted set in big, bad Hollywood. But what they both share are two kick-ass heroines whom I admired more with each page I turned.

I’ve never spent time in Hollywood for work, but have worked around stage actors, writers, and directors for a long time, so when the plot lines …

Four swords up for Kat Bastion’s holiday novella, Bound by Wish and Mistletoe

imageI love time travel romance novels – and if they’re set in Scotland – wow! Kilts, sassy 20th Century heroines (or heroes) who travel forward or backward in time. So I was sold on Kat Bastion’s first novel, Forged in Dreams and Magick, from her Highland Legends series the moment I saw the description. Then I have to say that mid-way through the novel as Isa or Isobel finds her second soul mate in a Pict warlord, I began to find my mind wandering. I felt like there was almost too much going on.

So when I received her …

Five stars for Terri Osburn’s Anchor Island novels

If I had a dream location to live, I think it would be an island off either the Atlantic or Pacific coast. Yes, I grew up among mountains, but have to say I’ve always been in love with the sea. If I had aced calculus I might even be a marine biologist right now, but hey, I love what I’m doing and can dream of an island home-to-be.

However, while I’m dreaming, I’ll be reading Terri Osburn’s Anchor Island novels. What a perfect locale she’s created with an island (inspired by North Carolina’s Ocracoke Island – vacation location found!) that …
